Annecy, In-Person, and Online

A calm place to land, in your own language.

Ma Zen Space Lake Annecy

Counseling and art therapy in English for women, couples and families making a life around Annecy and Geneva — in person by the lake, or online wherever you are.

Life abroad can be beautiful, and still very hard.

Whatever brought you to Haute-Savoie, you don’t have to carry the hard parts alone or explain yourself in a second language.

Lake Annecy France Therapist

You may be here because…

life transitions, pregnancy, wellbeing, relationships, emotional struggles, and art therapy

or maybe there is another reason… whatever the reason, we can work together to help you find your way through…

How it works

Three simple steps, at your pace.

  1. A free 15-minute call

We talk briefly about what you’re looking for and whether I’m the right person for you. No commitment, no forms to fill in first.

  2. A first session

Seventy-five unhurried minutes, in Annecy or online, to understand your story and develope a plan forward.

  3. Schedule according to your needs

A regular slot that’s yours each week or schedule more variably. Switch between the studio and online whenever life requires it. Need to reschedule? No problem, life happens and our sessions can flex with your changing schedule.

How to find a therapist in France in English

A private practice, by choice

Time, discretion and depth.

Ma Zen Space works outside the French health-insurance system. That means sessions are not reimbursed by the Assurance Maladie — and it also means you choose how often we meet, for how long, and in which language, without limits set by a scheme.

I keep a small number of clients so that each person has real attention and a regular time that belongs to them.

Stages of being an expat and how to find support

Twenty years of listening, and a move I know from the inside.

I’m Megan Bousquet. For more than twenty years I have worked with women, couples and families — in the eating-disorder programs at Sheppard Pratt, in the Department of Psychiatry at Walter Reed, and in my own practice in Philadelphia and Washington DC.

I also know the move to France from the inside: the paperwork, the second language, the friendships that take time, and the quiet moments when home feels very far away.

I welcome referrals of English-speaking clients.

With your patient’s consent, I keep you informed. I work alongside medical care, never instead of it.
