Reimbursement

A private practice, outside the health-insurance system.

Ma Zen Space is not part of the French Assurance Maladie. That gives you freedom — no cap on sessions, no referral needed, nothing billed through your health-insurance account — and it means you pay for sessions yourself.

If cost is the main concern, the reimbursed Mon Soutien Psy scheme with a contracted psychologue may suit you better, and I’m happy to say so.

Sessions are not covered by the French Assurance Maladie (Sécurité sociale) and are not part of Mon Soutien Psy. Some French mutuelles and some international health plans reimburse part of the cost of sessions with a psychopraticien(ne) or art therapist. Many require an ADELI/RPPS registration number, which I don’t have, so please check with your insurer before we start.

Upon request, I can give you a detailed receipt (note d’honoraires) after every session.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a psychopraticienne?

In France, “psychologue” and “psychothérapeute” are protected titles linked to French qualifications and registration. “Psychopraticien(ne)” is the title used by practitioners whose training sits outside that system — in my case, a US master’s degree and more than twenty years of licensed practice in the United States as an Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can contact me directly. If you’d like, and with your written consent, I’m happy to keep your doctor, midwife, or other providers informed.

Is this the right kind of support for me?

I work with everyday and life-changing difficulties: stress, anxiety, low mood, grief, transitions, relationships, parenthood. If you’re facing a severe crisis or need medication, a doctor or psychiatrist should be involved first — I can work alongside them. On our first call I’ll tell you honestly if someone else would be a better fit.

I live in Geneva. Can I see you?

Yes — many people from the Geneva area come to the Annecy / Argonay studio. Online sessions may also be possible if depending on your location at the time of our session; we’ll talk through the options on the first call.

Which language will we speak?

English by default, with French whenever it helps. Bilingual couples can use both.

What about confidentiality?

What you share stays between us. The rare exceptions are when someone’s life is in serious danger or a child or vulnerable person needs protecting — and I would always talk with you first wherever possible. Records are kept securely on EU-hosted, health-data-certified tools.
